Christmas morning Santa brought Aidin her very own digital camera and Eliot yet more trains. Then off to my mom and dad's to open presents from grandma and grandpa, great-grandma, aunt, uncle and cousins.
In the afternoon we continued our Christmas Day movie-viewing tradition (that's how we saw all three Lord Of The Rings movies - free babysitting with Grandma) by taking my dad to see Eragon. Lonnie and the big girls tagged along. If you've read the book, don't bother with the movie. Can you say "butcher job"?
The day after Christmas the four of us met our friends Maisy and Michelle at the movie theater for Charlotte's Web. Much better.
Tomorrow we celebrate Christmas with Tim's family. I've still got a bit of robot making to finish before then. And poor Aidin got her skirt, jumper and poncho wrapped up with the fabric, trim, zippers and pattern. I guess that's on the agenda next week when I'm home with the kids.
And we actually have plans for New Year's Eve! We usually try to get together with our friends, Jamie and Bill. Jamie and I have been holding Murder Mystery Parties since we were in high school. Last year we did one on NYE. So Sunday I need to figure out a Victorian evening dress for myself and a British military uniform for Tim circa 1895 complete with monocle. No sweat, right?
Thanks for all your good wishes about my cold. It's still hanging on with a wicked cough and every time I laugh I sound like a 3 pack a day smoker (I'm not, in case you're wondering), but I do feel better. I'm with Laura, blame it on Laura! But staying home in bed sick does have some advantages. It let me finish the teacher gifts.
Have a safe and happy New Year, my friends. See you next Friday.
