Today is Aidin's last day at our beloved Montessori school. She started in the toddler class 6 weeks after her 2nd birthday.
She moved up to the primary class the following March, just before her 3rd birthday. Here she is on the first day of school in 2005.
And here she is today with her teacher. All grown up on her last day of school. I think Miss Shauna is going to miss my little girl, don't you?
We gave the class their new tablecloths and napkins yesterday and they used them for lunch. Today we took her teacher gifts.
The Pleated Beauty tote from Bend the Rules Sewing for Miss Shauna:
For Jenny, who is a late afternoon teacher that has only been with the class for the summer, I made another Bend the Rules bag, the Artsy Clutch. The exterior fabric was the off-cut of a thrifted rectangular tablecloth that I made round.
And for Miss Rose, the Amy Butler In Stitches clutch + handle. I wasn't 100% happy with how this came out, but it works. I think heavier fabric is in order or I should have used some interfacing. Next time I'll know better. It is lined in green and has a pink-topped pocket inside.
I was a little bit teary eyed as I walked away today. The end of an era, but the beginning of something exciting and new.
Ciao for now, friends.
