This evening is a school carnival for Aidin. Each family was asked to bring a cake for the cake walk. Here's my contribution.
Less involved than last year's cake walk creation, but I was still up past midnight in the making - thus the dark dark photos. And because you can never have enough cakes, an extra (the coffee cake I posted on Monday) gussied up with some leftover vanilla frosting and some marchino cherries.
The carnival also includes a silent auction. Our Brownie troop put together a book basket as a service project for the school. It includes a book bag made from my stash, $75 in gift certificates to two local used book stores (which were purchased by selling some of our old books back to the stores), a new Jack & Annie Magic Tree House book and bookmarks made by the girls. I hope it brings a lot of money.
A bit more sewing on the plate for this weekend, as Saturday my niece Clare turns 13. Oh, my. Then on to a secret embroidery project that I'll be able to share at the end of next week.
What does your weekend hold?
