Hey there! Happy Easter! I hope the Easter bunny was able to brave the wacky weather and find your house. He certainly found ours.
Thank you so much for all your comments on Friday's post. You all are so sweet to think that I get so much done. The truth is that I set unrealistic expectations for myself and then don't accomplish 1/3 of what I set out to. And of course there is no way humanly possible to accomplish all that. So hey ho. I slept. I did what I could. The rest can wait. Life goes on.
Here's a peek at what did happen this weekend.
I finished and delivered the robot patches:
Easter eggs were colored:
and hunted (in coats and sweaters):
Monkeys were embroidered whilst playing trivial pursuit (the 80's edition, which I won):
What? I hadn't mentioned the monkeys? These are going to be patches on t-shirts for Aidin's zoo birthday party. It is mostly a self-serving party favor - I figure it will be easier to keep track of seven little girls at the zoo if they are all in matching lime green t-shirts. The patches are far from finished, but I feel good about the progress.
And the annual Easter Bunny Cake:
This is one of those cut up cakes that you are supposed to cover with coconut to hide the cuts, but our family won't eat the coconut, so we have a chocolate bunny and forget about the crumbs in the frosting. I didn't buy any jelly beans this year, so he's decorated with what I had on hand - marshmallows, twizzlers and Girl Scout Cookies.
And what didn't get done. The clutch and Olive and Archie:
Why do they look like they could be South Park characters at this point?
All in all it was a great weekend. We had a great day yesterday with the cousins and grandparents. I'll leave you with a photo of Aidin and Eliot in their Easter clothes - before Aidin ripped one of the ties off her dress. :)
I'll add more Easter pictures on flickr later today, if you're interested. :)
Cheers!
