It started a year ago today. Too much reading Wee Wonderfuls. I felt compelled.
And in a year I've learned so much. My sewing skills have increased. I've created more than I have in the past 10 years. I've been continually inspired. (And I've been continually frustrated that there are not enough hours in the day.)
I bought a digital camera. I've taken pictures. I've become addicted to flickr. I've participated in photo challenges.
But best of all, I've made friends. I've felt supported and encouraged. I've discovered a whole network of like-minded, creative people who don't look at me like I'm nuts when I talk about fabric. And two of my real life friends have started blogs. And through this shared medium, our friendships have grown.
Alicia left me my first comment. Thank you! And Capello was the first blogger I met in the flesh. Thanks for coming out to Ren Fest, my dear!
And thanks to everyone who stops by daily or just once in a while to check in on me, my creations, my life and my kids. It really means so much to me.
And what's a birthday without gifts? Here are the two we bought for ourselves last week from Ben:
And here is one I finally finished for Aidin:
The 24 vs. 12 pencil model that I've made for all her friends. Of course, she's already lost a few. Hey, ho.
Thanks for a great year, my friends. Same time, same place tomorrow? And the day after? And the day after that????
Cheers! Lori
